Pupil of M° Martinotti, winner of the international competitions of Stresa (1978), Palmi (1979), Ancona (1979), Lorenzo Missaglia attends the courses of the Accademia Musicale Chigiana with the Maestros Ferrara and Bellugi.
The first flute in the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (1978-80), after playing in the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala, he was the first flute in the Orchestra della Toscana (1981-82), in the Sinfonica della RAI di Milano (1982-85), in the Pomeriggi Musicali (1988-90).
Since 1983 he has collaborated regularly with the Divertimento Ensemble of Milan, which has been spreading the modern and contemporary repertoire for thirty years, participating in major festivals of contemporary music such as Holland Festival of Amsterdam, Biennale Musica in Venice, Musica nel Nostro Tempo in Milan, Autunno Musicale in Warsaw, Biennale Musica in Zagreb, Festival di Alicante, CPDMC in Madrid, Festival Cervantino (MEX), Huddersfiled Music Festival(GB), World Musica Days in Mexico City, Theatre Winter in Tokyo, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Festival MiTo in Milano/Torino.
At the same time, he has performed as a soloist and as a chamber musician in England, Spain, Germany, Austria, Greece, Turkey, France, Belgium, the former Soviet Union, former Yugoslavia, Mexico, Argentina, Japan, and the United States.
As a soloist he has performed, in addition to the classical repertoire, music by Maderna, Donatoni, Berio, Bussotti, Kagel, Gorli, Dusapin, Mantovani, Boulez.
Active also in the theatrical field, he has accompanied on stage Maddalena Crippa, Alessandro Haber, Carlo Cecchi, Antonio Albanese, Ottavia Piccolo.
He has made recordings for Ricordi, Stradivarius, Salabert, Fonit Cetra, RAI, and BBC making the first world recording of Dom Perlimplin by Bruno Maderna insieme al Divertimento Ensemble di S. Gorli.
Since 1981 he has been teaching at the G. Nicolini Conservatory of Piacenza.
