CLARINET, Paolo Casiraghi

Paolo Casiraghi graduated in clarinet with top honours from the Milan Conservatoire under the guidance of Sergio Delmastro, before furthering his studies with Hans Deinzer. He attended the Academy of Teatro alla Scala and the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento in Saluzzo.

He obtained a diploma in composition under the tutelage of Sandro Gorli and Alessandro Solbiati, and in orchestral conducting, studying with Emilio Pomarico.

His commitment to contemporary and chamber music has led him to perform at prestigious international festivals such as Società del Quartetto, MITO SettembreMusica, La Biennale di Venezia, RuhrTriennale, Festival Verdi, Bologna Festival, Musik+ in Innsbruck, SMC in Lausanne, Festival Traettorie in Parma, Mittelfest in Cividale, Milano Musica, Ravello Festival, Tiroler Festspiele in Erl, Unione Musicale in Turin, Konzerthaus Dortmund, LACMA in Los Angeles, Festival Internacional Cervantino in Guanajuato, Forum delle Nazioni 2007 in Monterrey, Toho University in Tokyo, Festival Trieste Prima, Associazione Musicale Etnea, and Rassegna Nuova Musica in Macerata, among others.

His recordings have been released by Col legno (winner of the Midem Classical Award), Kairos, Aeon Paris (Grand Prix of the Charles Cros Academy 2009), Neon, L’Emprinte Digitale, Stradivarius, Ricordi, SIdM, and the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome. His concerts have been recorded and broadcast by EuroRadio, RaiRadio3, SWR, WDR, ORF Wien, Radio France, Rai 5, Sky Classica, and Rai International.

After teaching at the conservatoires of Pescara, Piacenza, Trento, and Genoa, he is currently a clarinet professor at the Conservatoire of Cuneo, and alongside his work as a clarinettist, he is also active as a composer and conductor.
