CLARINET, Nicola Zuccalà

He studied at the Scuola Civica di Musica in Milan with Maestro Giovanni Iuliano and attended Maestro Giuseppe Garbarino's clarinet courses at the Accademia Chigiana of Siena. Furthermore, he graduated from the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale in Saluzzo with Maestro Walter Boeykens.

He carries out intense concert activity in the field of orchestral and solo chamber music, both in the classical and contemporary repertoire with leading ensembles and orchestras such as: Harmonie Ensemble, Tactus Ensemble, Nuove Sincronie, Divertimento Ensemble, Ensemble Garbarino, Traiettorie Sonore, Demo Band, Dedalo Ensemble, Musica 20, C.I.M.E. R, Icarus Ensemble, Chalomeau Ensemble, I Filarmonici di Busseto, Quintetto THEO, Quintetto Anemos, Trio Contrasti, Filarmonica di Udine, Angelicum dì Milano, Teatro Massimo Bellini dì Catania, OSI (Switzerland) and the Orchestra da Camera dì Mantova, with which he participated in musical events in various national and international institutions, collaborating with conductors such as Carlo Maria Giulini, Giuseppe Garbarino, Alain Lombard, Sir Neville Marinner, Umberto Benedetti Michelangeli, George Pelivanian, Marc Andreae and Alexander Vedernikov, as well as composers such as Franco Donatoni, Luciano Berio, Giacomo Manzoni, Azio Corghi, Gerard Grisei, Ivan Fedele, Luca Francesconi, Heiner Goebbles, Massimiliano Viel and Timothy Brock in Italy, Belgium, England, France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Croatia, Spain, Holland, Greece, the USA, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Brazil. In the jazz field, he has collaborated with musicians such as Enrico Intra, Andrea Dulbecco, Marco Micheli, Fabrizio Bosso, Alfredo Ferrario, Uri Caine, Paolo Tomelleri, Franco Ambrosetti, and Nguyen'Lee. He has also collaborated in pop music with artists such as Enzo lannacci, Milva, Fabrizio De Andrè, Dulce Pontes, Misia, Elio from 'Elio e le storie tese', Ricy Weichman, Eugenio Bennato, and in theatre with Giulia Lazzarini, Moni Ovadia, Geppi Cucciari and Antonio Albanese.

He has made radio recordings for RAI, Radio Tre Suite, RTS1 (Switzerland), Radio France, and Radio Capodistria, as well as for television (RAI and RTSI).

He teaches the Clarinet class at the Scuola Civica di Musica Claudio Abbado in Milan.
