Kerem Brera was born in Milan into a family of musicians. He graduated from the Milan Conservatory in 2003, studying under Maestro Marco Scano, with whom he also completed a second-level degree in 2006. He furthered his studies in Lugano under the tutelage of Maestro Robert Cohen, obtaining two Master's degrees. He has attended various courses and masterclasses with musicians including Thomas Demenga, Alain Meunier, Karina Georgian and Bruno Giuranna.

Particularly active in chamber music, he has performed with various musicians, including Marco Rizzi, Robert Cohen, Yuval Gotlibovich, Danusha Waskiewicz, Fabian Thouand and Francesco Senese. He has been a guest at several international festivals, including Serate Musicali and Società del Quartetto in Milan, Festival Mozart in Rovereto, Longlake Festival in Lugano, Prague Spring Chamber Music Festival, Charleston Manor Festival in London, Festival Musica sull'Acqua on Lake Como, and Novara Jazz, among others.

He has collaborated with various orchestras, including the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana and the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala. He has performed as a soloist with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano (La Verdi), Lugano Chamber Orchestra, Camerata dei Castelli, Camerata di Fiesole and Ensemble 900 e Presente from Lugano, performing, with the latter ensemble, the composition Detto 1 by Sofia Gubaidulina on the occasion of the composer's 80th birthday celebrations in 2011. Particularly active in the field of education, he teaches at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana and is one of the founders of the Il Classico Musica e Arte Association in Milan, where he teaches and organises international cultural events.
